Milton Historical Society presents "The Allens of Vermont" with Willard Sterne Randall

The Bradley Jay Show on WBZ-AM Boston syndicated by the iHeart Radio Network, June 26, 2019

Brian Lamb, founder and CEO of C-Span, just sent me his forthcoming book, The Presidents:

Noted Historians Rank America’s Best – and Worst –Chief Executives. Based on the 2017 C-

Span ranking of Presidents, it includes a chapter based on our 1993 Booknotes interview about

my Thomas Jefferson: A Life. Jefferson ranked No. 7 in that poll, the same as in the 2001 and

2009 surveys. The surveys take place whenever there’s a new President and do not include the

incumbent, but the book includes a podcast by historians comparing Trump’s presidency to date

in context. Here’s the website created with the book: www.c-span.org/thepresidents. As the only

C-Span Presidential Scholar in Vermont, I’m proud to appear in this book, which also tells the

history of Brian Lamb’s invaluable contribution.
